What’s in a name?

It was my husband’s birthday last month, and of course I made him a birthday cake. He sees cake practically every day in the Delights Kitchen. So I wanted to create something simple (he doesn’t go in for fuss), something different, but with meaning too. I chose to make him this cake with a little sheep on it. My husband (affectionately known as ‘Mr Delights’) has Folorunsho as his middle name. It is a Yoruba name, meaning the Lord is my shepherd, from Psalm 23. Such peace having these words spoken over you, since you were a baby…

Happy Birthday 'Mr Delights'

Happy Birthday ‘Mr Delights’

Psalm 23
The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever.
