Bob and Brenda have been married for 60 years, which makes it their diamond wedding anniversary. It was an absolute pleasure to create a cake for a couple who have been married, longer than I’ve been alive. They’re not many out there that make it to 60 years.
I made this cake set for their anniversary celebrations: A rich fruit cake (lovingly soaked with dark rum), covered with marzipan and fondant, decorated simply with two hearts. The cake was surrounded by a dozen vanilla cupcakes, with an edible print with an image of the couple on their wedding day.
