You wait around for ages and then two orders for whisky themed birthday cakes come along at once.
Bob turned 75 this year. His family wanted to celebrate with a cake. I created a cake with an edible label of his favourite tipple, paying homage to ‘The Famous Bob’. Now, little did I know what a great combination chocolate and whisky are together. Bob’s cake was a rich chocolate cake, soaked with a sprinkling of whisky and sandwiched with a lavish layer of chocolate and whisky buttercream…delicious!
Tony turned 90 this year (is it me, but does a drop of the good stuff every now and then, give you longevity?). So to celebrate, I created an alcohol-free bottle of Johnny Walker Whisky – rich chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream.
Both birthday boys loved their cakes. From what I hear, they went down a treat. And I get a new flavour to add to my repertoire.
